Day 1: Sun 10 Dec - Hippo Farm to Allora, 418km
17-31 degC, windy Walk: 2.5km We were awake before 6am, and after a final check of the house to make sure all the windows and doors were closed and locked, we were on the road at 7:10am. Being a Sunday, the traffic was lighter than usual, with only a few people in a mad rush and inappropriately overtaking those "bloody caravanners", only to be stuck behind another two! Our fist stop for the day was at Goomeri for mornos. We made the mistake of parking on the side of the road (in a wide verge) that had a large drop off into the gutter so the van was on a lean and our coffees almost slid off the table! Lunch was had at Crows Nest, another small community we have driven through on many occasions. Before having lunch, we went for a wander and it was great to see so many shops open on a Sunday.
