Day 15: Sun 24 Dec - Canberra
Quite a pleasant day in Canberra with a gusty wind Ride: 42km; total: 199km After another sleep-in we were on the bikes a little after 9am and stopped in to conduct a welfare check on mum and dad at Weetangera. We then had breakfast at Hawker shops, the coffee and bacon and egg rolls hit the spot. It was then home to freshen up for Christmas Eve dinner at Wendy's brother's place (Dale and Suzanne). We had a fantastic afternoon/evening dinner with all the Beswicks, and a few ring-ins - Paddy and Sarah (Suz's parents from NZ). After a couple of drinks to lubricate the vocal cords, we had a great carols sing-a-long lead by Sarah on the piano. For dinner we had a whole cooked Red Emperor (done on the bbq wrapped in banana leaves) and a ham, cooked to perfection with salads and rice.
